Description

This kit includes two special cleaning brushes for your sensor, the 16mm Sensor Brush, and the 16mm SBF Brush.

In order for the Sensor Brush to be more effective, the net charges on the filament are enhanced greatly using unique technology. During polymerization of polymers, one can add certain elements to enhance these charges. Another technique is to use a cross-linking technique or a gas chamber to add these extra molecules to enhance the net charges on the fibers. With these extra charges one can increase the safety value of the brush and ultimately the cleaning efficiencies. Neither of these processes will change the appearance of the brush.

VisibleDust is a Canadian Company which uses its knowledge of biochip technology to advance the science of removing dust from the surface of delicate objects. Attracting protein and DNA to the glass-like surface of a biochip for attachment requires special preparation of that surface. Because dust has many common characteristics with DNA, their products are able to utilize that same technology.

3000 Sensor Brush cleanings (10,000 brush strokes) plus 1000 Sensor Clean cleanings were applied to a test camera's sensor. This is the equivalent of 10 years of EVERY DAY CLEANING using the Sensor Brush and Sensor Clean. SAFETY: if the test camera can withstand this test, then yours can too! ECONOMY: 3000 cleanings is the cheapest cost-per-cleaning on the market!

NEVER ATTEMPT TO CLEAN YOUR CHAMBER WITH MICROFIBRE CLOTH OR COTTON SWABS. These materials will tear and leave more behind.

The Sensor Brush is used when heavy dust is involved. It is recommended to use the main sensor brush with canned air. The SBF (fan style) Sensor Brush is a new addition to the collection of cleaning tools. The SBF has its own strength and weaknesses. Nevertheless, it cannot be used as a replacement for the main sensor brush. Due to lesser volume of the filaments SBF dries and clean faster than the regular sensor brush. Therefore, it is easily adaptable to be charged and cleaned by a simple bulb blower.

It is more often used in situations where occasional spots are the main problem. It lacks the capability and dust attraction capacity that the main sensor brush is known for. Therefore, it is recommended to use the main sensor brush TM with canned air for all other situation for a better cleaning efficiency where heavy dust is involved. Thus SBF is suited more for frequent travelers that cannot bring canned air along or when it is not easily available in some countries.

SBF also saves money for occasional cleaning where the numbers of dust spots are few knowing that no other purchases are necessary. Again for maximum efficiency and cleaning power the combination of canned air and the main brush are a more suitable choice.

Friction Resistant - using the proper technique during processing one can change the friction resistance of the brush fibers. Therefore determining how much residue is left on the sensor by various polymers. Neither of these processes will change the appearance of the brush.
Curing - Is done to prevent the residual stain left behind with most polymers. This is achieved using high-temperature baking and/or chemical and radiation techniques.
Fiber Thickness - Sensor Brush is made of the thinnest possible fibers. They are quite resilient in texture and several times thinner than a human hair and are 30-40% thinner than most consumer fibers.
Flow thru - Sensor Brush is designed to have the optimal fiber density concentration allowing the dust crystals to pass through without resistance.
Resiliency - Sensor Brush fibers have the maximum resiliency. When coming in contact with an object its fibres bend, not resisting the object. This unique physical characteristic helps to prevent dust crystals from being dragged on the sensor surface.
Wooden Handle - Sensor Brush has a wooden handle to reduce the risk of electrostatic discharges to the sensor. Regular brushes may transfer 5000-10000 voltage charges to the sensor.
Long Lasting - Sensor Brush fibers are chemically treated to last a very long time.
Cleanliness - Fibers for the sensor brush are treated chemically and physically to be free of dust and particles using various laboratory cleaning techniques.
Microscopically Inspected - Each sensor brush is microscopically inspected for cleanliness, entangled fibers, trapped particles and the above physical characteristics. Brushes that do not meet these standards are rejected.
