Nothing sneaky, just the best possible customer service! Here are some of the relevant details: 

We endeavor to follow the best possible practice at all times, and use IRISH LAW as our reference.

Most products listed on the website are stock items and we endeavor to dispatch them within one working day of placing an order. If an item is temporally out of stock we will hold an order for a few days for the missing item. If the item is not available within a few days we will contact you to see what action you would like us to take.

Sometimes our site won't accept an order for an out of stock item, please contact us for availability - which will be only a matter for days for most items.

Prices on this Website INCLUDE Irish VAT (of 23%) and PRF / WEEE Charges where appropriate. A VAT Invoice will always be sent with your order. We do our best to ensure prices are accurate, but reserve the right not to supply an item that is wrongly priced (we will contact you with the correct pricing and available options).

Online payments will be securely processed by REALEX, using 3D secure. Most major cards are accepted. We also accept Bank Transfers (call for Details) and Bank Drafts, but not cheques.

We use three different delivery methods:
Registered Post for Small & Light items of low value.
Package: Courier; for items that will fit in an A3 sized Bag – A signature is required on Delivery. We give the Courier your Mobile No. to help with directions.
Larger Items: Courier –. Anything that will not safely go in an A3 Bag is delivered using this service.

All three services are usually “Next working Day” – but this is NOT Guaranteed so please don’t leave ordering to the last minute.  Our International sales are limited to packages under 20Kg and with a length of less than 150cm.


Under EU Law, from July 2014 all products have a TWO year Guatantee. There are a few products that are exempt and are not covered as they are classed as consumables (such as Batteries, Bulbs, leads, Flash tubes etc.), however if in doubt please call us.

Returns are a pain for customers and suppliers, so we would urge you to talk to us prior to ordering any item if you have any doubts regarding suitability. 
If we notice something mis-matched on an order we will normally contact you before dispatch.

Unwanted or unsuitable products may be cancelled and returned to us within 7 working days, starting the day after receipt of goods, inline with the "Distance Selling Directive" as long as the goods are in a resalable condition and the packaging remains in an ‘as new’ state. Goods must be returned at your own expense. Please note that this option is only available for home users, NOT business users.

Products received ‘dead on arrival’ or products that develop faults under normal warranty conditions MUST be submitted to Barker Photographic for processing within 14 days of receipt. When the goods are returned to us including all manuals, accessories and original packaging and the fault has been verified, we’ll replace or repair the product.

Goods faulty within the warranty period but after 14 days since receipt are entitled to a warranty repair. Some manufacturers (Epson in particular) require that the end user contact them directly regarding faulty products, and not the retailer. In such cases please contact us and we will be happy to supply you with the manufacturer's contact details. Please note that your statutory rights are not affected, if you are having problems contacting / dealing with the manufacturer, we will be happy to help.

If your goods were damaged in transit, we request that you report it to us within 48 hours. If goods are visibly damaged on receipt, please either REFUSE the delivery OR sign the delivery note accordingly. Once the damaged goods are received back into our warehouse, we’ll issue a replacement order or issue a full refund to you via your original payment method

We NEVER share any information you provide with any third party. We do keep your contact details, including e-mail address (unless asked not to). 
We use a secure (REALEX) payment solution and never even see your Credit Card details and they are not held by us.

WEEE Recycling
From the 13th of August 2005 retailers are obliged to take back WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) from members of the public free of charge. This new EU directive ensures that all historic WEEE products are collected, treated and disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. 

What WEEE products can I return?
WEEE take back is on a one-for-one basis only and the product must be of a similar type or have performed the same function as the new product purchased. For example if you purchase a fridge freezer we will take back your old fridge freezer free of charge and ensure it is recycled in a safe and responsible manner. However if you buy a washing machine, we will not take back your cooker or chest freezer. 

How do I return my old product?
You can return your old product at the time of sale/delivery of the new product. Alternatively you can bring it to our store within 15 days of the date of sale or, if delivered, within a maximum of 30 days of the date of delivery.

Can I return my old product anywhere else?
Civic amenity centers throughout the country, will allow you to dispose of all old electronic equipment free of charge. The WEEE Ireland map gives details of Civic Amenity centers nationwide with WEEE collection facilities.

What is PRF?
Producer Recycling Fund (PRF) contributions have been introduced in Ireland under the 2002 EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The prices of some electrical items therefore include a contribution to a PRF to ensure that waste electrical and electronic equipment is collected and recycled in a responsible manner. PRF contributions have been setup and agreed according to specific product types and these costs are the same regardless of what brand or from where an item is purchased.

Do you take back used batteries?
Yes we do. In our Store you will find recycling bins for batteries. The batteries that we accept are AA, AAA, C or D and also the flat batteries that are found in the likes of watches. Unfortunately we do not accept back any Industrial or car batteries. To find your local Civic amenity centre please click WEEE Ireland map.
