Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 1000 Flash Head EL20616.1

The ELC is the first unit to incorporate an OLED screen that displays every control for the most professional user experience. As well as Elinchrom’s stop based power scale, you will now be able to see the power in Joules, flash durations and many other settings. A jog wheel provides easy navigation of the new menu. Recycling times are lightning fast (1.2s on the ELC 1,000w ) while Swiss precision guarantees consistency of power output and colour temperature, shot after shot. Furthermore the super fast flash durations (up to 1/5000s / 1/5260s, t0.5, ELC 500 / ELC 1000) enable you to freeze motion like never before.

New Shooting Modes

• The ELC features three exciting new shooting modes that will literally change the way you create.
• Sequence Mode - Allows you to sequentially trigger up to 20 ELC’s, in bursts or as a continuous cycle, to utilise the high frame rate of your camera.
• Delayed Mode - Provides the option of first or second curtain sync and everything in-between, plus predictive syncronisation within a short sequence.
• Strobo Mode - Enables you to take a picture with stroboscopic effects within a single frame.
• Ultra fast flash duration - as quick as 1/5260th second
• 7 f-stop power range, with ultra low (7w) setting.
• Ultra fast re-cycling (1.2 seconds to full power).

ELC PRO HD FIRMWARE / NEW OPTION - ENABLE / DISABLE FLASH BEFORE READY

Our ELC Pro HD users reported, that depending on the needs, they either require the fastest possible flash sequence (e.g. Strobo mode), or the best possible flash power accuracy for example for large series of pack shot photography, with priority on the exposure results. To satisfy both user groups we added value to the ELC Pro HD with the latest firmware V.25.17, which offers now the option to disable or enable Flash Before Ready.

 Flash Before Ready / Enabled

• Benefit: fast sequences and fast recycling times.
  
• Limitation: the exposure results may vary slightly depending on how fast the photographer will work.
  

 Flash Before Ready / Disabled

• Benefit: accurate exposures.
  
• Limitation: recycling times and the Strobo mode are slowing down.
  

 How to Update the ELC Pro HD

  *   Download the Updater: http://www.elinchrom.com/support_downloads.php?q=software+updater

  *   Use the latest USB RX Module: http://www.elinchrom.com/skyport/usb.html

  *   Switch off the ELC.

  *   Set the ELC to Firmware Update Mode: Press USER and ON button for a few seconds, the display shows the update mode.

  *   Start the updater and follow the displayed instructions.

  *   NOTE: The EL-Skyport software (Version 3.2.0.452) cannot be used to update the ELC firmware, use only the Updater!

 How to set Flash Before Ready - Enabled / Disabled

   1.  Switch off the ELC .

  2.  Press Centre Button (turn knob) together with the ON button, the display will show the Flash Before Ready status.

  3.  To enable or disable Flash Before Ready just repeat point 2.
