Elinchrom HS (Hi-Sync) Ranger head & Elinchrom Skyport Hi-Sync transmitter for Canon. 

Hi-Sync enables you to sync your camera (which normally has a Max Flash sync speed of 1/250th) at speeds of up to 1/8,000th with your Elinchrom Rangers. You no longer need to buy expensive third party triggers and have a ready to go solution right out of the box.

What's the benefit of the HS Head? Won't the existing "A" / "S" or Pro & Action heads work with the Hi-Sync transmitter? The truth is yes, they will work, but give you far less usable flash power. The simple explanation is that the heads with the quickest Flash duration are less suitable because of the way Hi-Sync works is by taking a short "slice" of the total flash output and less of the light is captured in the shorter exposure. The Pro heads are pretty good, but the new HS head has a longer (1/600th) Flash DURATION, which is optomised for Hi-Sync so that the faster Shutter speed will capture more of the head's output. Important: Flash meters (Currently) cannot meter the overall exposure correctly for Hi-Sync, as different cameras give different results, and current flash meters cannot tell what portion of the flash the camera "sees". However you can still use your meter to measure lighting ratios between different heads.
