This filter also blocks UV radiation and reduces haze in the scene. However, due to its light pink colour, the KR 1.5 reduces the high blue cast in the shadow portions of colour photographs caused by light coming from a blue sky. Because of its very faint colour, a skylight filter can be kept on a lens constantly for protection, as long as a slightly warmer colour rendition is desired, as it would be with colour reversal films that tend to produce cooler colours. The exposure factor is only 1.1 so for practical purposes it can be ignored.
